V&A Symposium - The Sound of Print

What's on: Paul Bowman, Area of Study Leader on the BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design Illustration pathway, has organised a printmaking symposium with the V&A. This will explore the history of printmaking's relationship with sonic graphics and talks to contemporary designers about their creative responses to notions of sounds. The symposium is aimed at, and fuelled by, students.

Rebecca Wright, Lead Tutor on the BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design Illustration pathway, has also been involved in the organisational process. In addition, second year students from the course will be formulating a project utilising sound and print and presenting it to the audience on the day. The students involved are: Nils Pormann, Ingrid Arnell, Michael Lemmetti, Ivana Bobic, Sara Oiestad, and Susanne Olsson.

There will be presentations by leading creatives including: Airside, Onedotzero and Peter Saville (interviewed by Paul Heatherington from SHOWstudio). Paul Bowman will introduce the event.
