A number of postgraduate courses require you to submit additional material/assignments with your application. Please read individual course information page on this website carefully to check for any specific requirements.
International students
International students should use the international application form which is available to download on the international office's web pages. A number of postgraduate courses require you to submit additional material with your application. Please read individual course information page on this website carefully to check for any specific requirements.
Interviews and portfolios
When your application has been reviewed by a tutor you may be called for an interview. If you are applying to a design, media, sound or photography course (or any other course with a strong practical element) you will be asked to bring your portfolio with you to the interview. In some cases, you may be asked to send it first, so that admissions tutors can assess your suitability for the course before inviting you for interview.
Other courses, such as journalism, require examples of written work as a voice test.
Portfolios of visual work should contain different media completed in the last two years, with photos of large-scale work if appropriate. Your portfolio is intended to give tutors an idea of your creative potential and imagination, as well as your technical skills. Sketchbooks and diagrams often provide evidence of potential as effectively as more polished work. You can submit work by email if you wish.
If you are an international student living overseas you can send in a portfolio with your application form and will not have to attend an interview. Contact the information centre for more information.
LCC treats portfolios with great respect and takes every care of them. However, no responsibility can be accepted for the damage or loss of any work, no matter how this may be caused.
Each couse has its own specific requirements for a portfolio. Check individual course pages on the site and, if in doubt, contact the relevant School Office for more details.
