Obtain the hands-on knowledge and skills to become a professional sports journalist while gaining a degree with this innovative Foundation Degree. On this intensive two-year programme, you will cover real sports news events, reporting on sport stars and other newsworthy people, working alongside the professionals.
An important and challenging aspect this course is work-based learning. This is centred on outside work attachments and work for the College's own weekly newspaper, Arts London News, produced in our news room.
Running alongside the practical and career-focused nature of this degree course are units in the history of sports journalism and sports journalism around the world.
There is the opportunity for progression to a final year of a dedicated BA Honours degree programme, BA Sports Journalism (Top-up). To be considered for progression to this course, students need to achieve a Merit classification and complete a short bridging unit. In the event that there are more applicants than places available, selection will be via application an interview.
This course is taught at LCC within the School of Media.
