This course will develop your own enterprise skills and equip you with the specific knowledge and understanding required in this competitive and ever-changing industry.

This course is taught within the School of Design.

Year 1

In year one the focus is on Foundations of Advertising and Marketing Communications, which will provide you with the knowledge of the subject and its industry context. You will be introduced to the essential marketing and communication concepts and recognise how these are employed in the business environment.

Year 2

The themes of Management of Marketing and Advertising Communications are covered in year two. A particular focus is on the application of knowledge to marketing communications, problems and issues. Another feature of study this year is simulated work-related study, through which you will employ your understanding of advertising communications in practical scenarios.

Year 3

You now examine contemporary issues of advertising practice. Issues of communications strategy and preparation for employment are particular features of this final year of study. You will also work on a major project.

This course is suited to students wishing to enter a career in advertising and marketing.

2 A levels plus 3 GCSEs (A-C), or equivalent qualifications, or relevant professional experience/experiential learning, or a combination of formal qualifications and experiential learning.
