Nela Brown - BA Honours, Sound Arts and Design
Having heard previous students raving about this intensive Sound Arts course and its teachers, Nela came to an LCC Open Day to see the facilities for herself. She was, at that time, taking a part-time course in music technology at Goldsmiths College.
"The quality of teaching at LCC is very high", Nela told us. "The staff are known practitioners in their field and it is inspirational to see the passion they have for their area. This is an important factor which transcends 'teaching' a subject".
"We have studied so many aspects of sound arts including time-based sound for video and games' location recording of interesting sounds and recording with a film crew. Sound composition includes mixing effects and dialogue into a complete film sound recording. We have become familiar with the practical side of different types of microphones and hydrophones and studied acousticology, that is sound in its environment".
"I would certainly recommend the course to those who are willing to look at new experiences and knowledge".
