Olga Generozova - MA/Postgraduate Diploma in Interactive Media

Olga was working in graphic and media design at University College London when she spotted LCC's MA Interactive Media course. When we asked her to identify the most valuable aspects of the course, she chose two specific features.

"The tutors invite visiting speakers from industry to come and talk to us. We have found these lectures by representatives from major interactive media companies, such as Tomato Interactive, very interesting. Another valuable aspect has been working in teams and taking on a role which was very different from our previous experience. Even if students choose to work in their original field, they will have a better perspective of the work of the rest of the team, having tried it themselves."

A typical assignment project involved converting given text on the development of an ancient musical form into a non-linear narrative. "Using mixed media, we had to go beyond a straight historical account to produce a piece with several interweaving strands, stories and music."

For her elective, Olga chose animation which she clearly enjoyed and which has produced a big result. "I produced a piece of animation for museums broadcasts and when my work was complete, I showed it to the Tate and they are probably going to use it."
