Current Research
Brigitte Lardinois worked for ten years as an Exhibition Organiser at the Barbican Art Gallery, London, specialising in photography exhibitions. In 1995 she joined the staff of Magnum Photos in London, where she set up and headed the Cultural Department. She organised many Magnum group shows as well as solo exhibitions with Henri Cartier-Bresson, Eve Arnold, Martin Parr and Elliott Erwitt, Joseph Koudelka and many others.
In 2006 she left Magnum to become Senior Research Fellow at the University of the Arts in London. Since then she has been editing books and she has been teaching on the MA Photojournalism and Documentary Course.
Brigitte is currently exploring the BT archive with Prof Teal Triggs, with a view of curating an exhibition and a book. She is collaborating with the Photographers Gallery in London on a book about their history, which will be published to coincide with the reopening of their gallery in 2011. For PARC she is organising a retrospective of Daniel Meadows for 2011 with Prof Val Williams and she is involved in a new project by Geert van Kesteren about the situation in the Middle East. Brigitte is a Trustee of the Philip Jones-Griffiths Foundation.
