Current Research
Ian Noble's research in general is related to the areas of graphic design practice, writing and pedagogy. He is a partner in the design practice 'Visual Research' working for a range of clients such as Art Galleries and in collaboration with individual artists and photographers. He contributes to journals such as 'Eye' Magazine (UK), 'Émigré' (US) and 'Zed' (US) writing about contemporary graphic design. He is also the co-author of a number of books; 'Experimental Layout', 'Up Against the Wall - Contemporary Poster Design' and most recently 'Picture Perfect - New Fusions of Illustration and Image making'.
