The Voice and its Double

The Voice and its Double

‘The Voice and its Double’ is an online exhibition of experiments in the artistic use of the recorded voice curated by Michael Hiltbrunner and produced by CRiSAP. Inspired by his own artistic practice, the Zurich-based artist and researcher Michael Hiltbrunner has compiled an anthology that stretches back from the present to the time of the earliest recordings, selecting work that shadows his own preoccupations with repetition and with the original and the ‘copy’.

This international exhibition draws in scientific experiments, early sound-films, sound poetry, the classical avant-garde, conceptual and performance art and German Techno.

You can visit the exhibition at http://thevoiceanditsdouble.crisap.org/

The Well Gallery is currently playing host to ‘Sound for Space’  an installation created by College Sound Engineer and artist Richard Coles. Richard’s sound-based work is obviously difficult to capture on camera, but visitors to the space will be able to participate in an ’immersive and involved experience’.

Samantha Huang has sent us these images of her beautiful book art work. Samantha recently completed the Foundation Studies in Art and Design at LCC and will be starting on our BA Graphic and Media Design course next term.

Samantha comments on her work:

“What I liked about the Foundation course was that it gave me a lot of freedom and encouragment to create what I liked and what I believe in. For example I worked with various materials particularly paper. I am focusing on environmental and recycling issues.”
